Samsung U600 Pink Mobile Phone

The Samsung U600 Pink mobile phone is the successor to the Samsung D900 as an “Ultra thin” slide phone and hence builds on the feature set of the D900 as well as being even thinner – it is only 10.9mm thick which is astonishing. Not only that, but it is also slightly less wide, and around 10g lighter than the D900. So if you are looking for one of the most compact and lightweight phones around then the U600 would be a good choice.

The Samsung U600 is a completely different phone to the D900 and not just a re-release with upgraded features. Some of these are quite minor changes – for example the  camera has been slightly upgraded to a higher megapixel, although not by much. On the other hand some are more major and change the whole feel of the phone. The main one is that the buttons on the phone have become touch buttons rather than physical ones. Whether this is a good thing or not comes down to personal taste, but it is generally true to say that a lot of people aren’t a big fun of touch buttons.

Features: Samsung U600 Pink Mobile Phone

  • 3.2 Megapixel camera – while the number of megapixels is quite standard in the mobile world, the camera actually performs surprisingly well. It has an LED flash as well as autofocus, and while it isn’t’ the best camera phone on the market it certainly is good enough for the occasional snapshot.
  • Built in music player with loud speaker – The U600 will play various different file types and the phone also comes with a stereo headset.
  • 60 MB of built in memory – enough for a few songs, but if you want to use the phone as a music player you will need to add a Micro SD card. This isn’t a major problem though as they are quite inexpensive.
  • Built in software to view different document types including PDF and Microsoft Office. This is definitely a welcome feature if you are going to be reading lots of email attachments on your phone.

Style: Samsung U600 Pink Mobile Phone

While the looks of the U600 are definitely not anything to write home about, they don’t look out of date either and the size definitely helps to make the phone have more appeal. The touch buttons might not be as easy to use as physical buttons but they certainly look good.

Summary: Samsung U600 Pink Mobile Phone

As a basic phone the Samsung U600 Pink Mobile Phone does its job well. It might not be able to compete with similar phones such as the Nokia N95 in terms of camera quality, but it looks good and has a decent music facilities too.
